FSE and ”la Caixa” Foundation Calls for Applications
During the 2014-2020 programme period ,”la Caixa” Foundation is an Intermediate Body for the European Social Fund in Spain, in both the Operational Programme on Social Inclusion and Social Economy (POISES) and the Operational Programme on Youth Employment (POEJ).

  • MÁS EMPLEO DE ”LA CAIXA” FOUNDATION

    Call for proposals

    Within the framework of POISES, ”la Caixa” Foundation has launched the call for proposals Más Empleo de ”la Caixa” Foundation in order to select projects aimed at developing comprehensive itineraries for socio-occupational insertion.

    The projects will be implemented up until 2023.

    Aim and beneficiaries:
    The aim of the call for proposals is to encourage the active inclusion of people at risk of or suffering from social exclusion through comprehensive insertion itineraries that will help them get on the job market.
    Beneficiary institutions are non-profit organisations, special employment centres and employment insertion firms.

    Budget:
    The budget totals €41,346,233, €30,576,923 of which come from the European Social Fund and €10,769,310 from ”la Caixa” Foundation.

  • ”LA CAIXA” FOUNDATION EMPLEO JOVEN

    Call for proposals

    Within the framework of POEJ, ”la Caixa” Foundation has launched ”la Caixa” Foundation Empleo Joven, a call for proposals open to companies that employ young people.

    Aim and beneficiaries:
    The aim of the call for proposals is to promote stable and quality employment as well as to reduce youth unemployment in Spain.
    The grants are aimed at companies, self-employed entrepreneurs and non-profit organisations that employ young people.

    Budget:
    The budget amounts to €30,773,559, of which €28,278,035 (91.89 %) come from the European Social Fund and €2,495,564 (8.11 %) from ”la Caixa” Foundation.

  • GENDER-NET

    Project

    Aim and beneficiaries:
    Consortium of 16 organisations, together with Spain's Ministry of the Economy, Industry and Competitiveness (MINECO), whose aim is to help promote gender equality in research programmes and funding, among other objectives.

    Amount:
    Horizon 2020, the European Union's Framework Programme for Research and Innovation, with a total budget of €3,774,910 (2017-2022). The European Commission's contribution to the ”la Caixa” Foundation is €100,000.

  • COMPASS

    Project

    Aim and beneficiaries:
    Its aim is to analyse how Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) can be meaningfully integrated into existing innovation systems in European industry and to encourage collaboration in three key fields of innovation: biomedicine, nanotechnology and cybersecurity.

    Amount:
    Horizon 2020, the European Union's Framework Programme for Research and Innovation. The European Commission's contribution to the ”la Caixa” Foundation is €195,687.50 (May 2016-May 2019).

  • EIT HEALTH

    Project

    Aim and beneficiaries:A consortium of over 144 leading European companies, universities and research centres in biomedicine and health innovation, its aim is to stimulate innovation and entrepreneurship throughout Europe by promoting innovation in biomedicine and health in the European Union.

    As part of its internationalisation, EIT-Health co-finances the CaixaImpulse programme (€777,275 in 2019). The ”la Caixa” Foundation also takes part in various initiatives through the EIT-Health calls for applications.

    • The SHAPE project, led by TU Delft. This project funds training for researchers in Technology Transfer and Valorisation via the training offered by CaixaImpulse.

    • The SHEBUCAR project, led by TU Delft, aims to hold a summer school where Masters students can learn about innovation and technology transfer, as well as financial aspects and business models.

    • The WE Health project, led by IESE, aims to improve the involvement and training of women in the health innovation sector. Through a range of training modules and networking activities, it raises awareness on the positive economic and social impact of diversity on the innovation ecosystem.

  • HEIRRI

    Project

    Aim and beneficiaries:
    Its aim is to integrate the concept of Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) within scientific and engineering training, acting primarily through universities and other higher education institutions.

    Amount:
    Horizon 2020, the European Union's Framework Programme for Research and Innovation. The European Commission's contribution to the ”la Caixa” Foundation (September 2015-September 2018) has been €90,000.

  • MISS-to-HIT

    Project

    Aim and beneficiaries:
    SIts aim is to create a community where both formal and informal learning initiatives can share activities related to science, technology, engineering and mathematics through technology based on exploration and experimentation. The project, coordinated by the University of Deusto, involves seven partners from three countries, including the Science Museum CosmoCaixa.

    Amount:
    The European Union's Erasmus+ programme. The European Commission's contribution to the ”la Caixa” Foundation has been €17,890 (September 2015-September 2017).

  • HYPATIA

    Project

    Aim and beneficiaries:
    Addresses the challenge of bringing together different actors in society to attract more teenage girls to careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, known as STEM.

    Amount:
    Horizon 2020, the European Union's Framework Programme for Research and Innovation. The European Commission's contribution to the ”la Caixa” Foundation, through ECISTE, has been €45,625 (August 2015-August 2018).

  • INPhINIT

    Project

    Aim and beneficiaries:
    A doctoral fellowship programme aimed at attracting, to Spain's leading research centres, young international researchers in the fields of technology, engineering, physics, mathematics and health and life sciences.

    Amount:
    Horizon 2020, the European Union's Framework Programme for Research and Innovation. The programme is co-financed by the European Commission as part of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions with a contribution of €4,708,800 (2015).

    Project

    Aim and beneficiaries:
    Junior Leader is a postdoctoral fellowships programme focusing on the employment of researchers of any nationality who wish to further their research careers in Spain or Portugal. The aim of this programme is to support the best scientific talent and foster innovative, high quality research.

    Amount:
    European Union Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme. This programme has received €5,737,680 in funding from the European Commission under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Programme (2015).

    Project

    Aim and beneficiaries:
    Multidisciplinary consortium made up of 26 institutions from 30 countries in the European Research Area, organised into 19 RRI Hubs whose aim has been to develop a package of digital tools, known as the RRI Toolkit. This is a set of online tools focusing on the training, dissemination and application of responsible research and innovation in Europe.

    Amount:
    Seventh Framework Programme of the European Commission (FP7). The European Commission's contribution to the ”la Caixa” Foundation has been €6,942,032 (2014-2016).

    Aim and beneficiaries:
    Mobilisation and Mutual Learning Action Plan (MMLAP). The project aims to contribute to the field of RRI in Synthetic Biology by establishing an open dialogue between the potential beneficiaries and those affected by the risks that may appear in this field of research and public participation.

    Amount:
    Seventh Framework Programme of the European Commission (FP7) with €3,960,810. The European Commission's contribution to the ”la Caixa” Foundation, through ECISTE, has been €25,000 (June 2013-June 2017).

    Project

    Aim and beneficiaries:
    Project coordinated by the University of Vienna, with the participation of corporate partners such as Telefónica, Siemens, Ericsson and Atos. The aim of the project is for these agents in industry to co-create more responsible approaches for their innovation processes. The project's area of action is “smart future living”, with a strong Health component, an area with a direct impact on people's lives (social relevance) and a large emerging market.

  • CEB

    Project

    Purpose and beneficiaries:
    The Council of Europe Development Bank (CEB) is a multilateral development bank with a social vocation. It was founded on the 16th of April 1959 to provide solutions to the problems of refugees and its scope of action has progressively widened to other sectors of action directly contributing to strengthening social cohesion in Europe.

    The CEB has set up a line of financing to provide funds supporting the work of the ”la Caixa” Foundation, this collaboration forming part of our strategic line to foster a culture of alliances between institutions with a social vocation.

”la Caixa” Foundation has also been appointed as an Intermediary for the European Social Fund for the POISES and POEJ programmes. As part of this collaboration, ”la Caixa” Foundation has set up two programmes: the More Employment programme by ”la Caixa” Foundation and ”la Caixa” Foundation Youth Employment programme, both co-financed by the European Social Fund and ”la Caixa” Foundation.
